New Year, New Look

By | Jas Mann, Music, Site News | No Comments

Happy New Year everyone! No your eyes don’t deceive you and you don’t have to adjust your monitor. It seemed like it was a good time to update the Confused Art website with a bit of a face lift. It hasn’t really changed much since it was first put online. Some things are still a bit rough about the edges but it will be polished off eventually (once other commitments settle down). It might even change look again but I settled on this just to push an update out the door. Annnnyway….

More importantly, what’s new in the world of Babylon Zoo? Well, same old really. Things haven’t really changed there for a long time but Jas Mann is now involved in Virgin Produced India. It’s really exciting to know he’s back involved with music (although his career launching films was also pretty awesome). You can find out more here under the Suits link. We will him all the best on this new endeavour!

New Album

By | Babylon Zoo, Music | One Comment

Hey Everyone!

It brings me great pleasure in announcing that Jas has given us all the opportunity to interact with the next Babylon Zoo album!! Here are the details I’ve been sent:

Jas would like the fans to interact in the making of the new BZOO album.

If each person can describe themselves or their life to date in one word, he will write each and every word into the song lyrics on the album.

You’ve got until the 30th of November to take part, so get your thinking caps on!

Sending your entry

When you’ve thought of the word best describing yourself or life, you can submit it to us by posting in this thread, or via the site feedback form. I’ll be closing this thread on the 1st of December and forwarding on all the entries we receive to Jas Mann.

For discussions related to this thread, please post in:
http://www.babylonzoo.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=897

Note: We can’t accept entries submitted to us any later than the 30th of November.

Also, a second Q&A session with Jas Mann has taken place, with questions submitted by members of our community forum. You can read all the questions, and the answers here: http://www.babylonzoo.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=886

Hub Records

By | Mariachi Static, Music | No Comments

The official Hub Records site is now open! As the name suggests, Hub Records is a record company which Jas Mann is involved in. It features work from various artists including new material from Jas Mann under the recording name of “Mariachi Static”.

Editor Update: Sadly Hub Records is no longer online.

Nothing to report…

By | Site News | No Comments

As most of you know there’s been very little Babylon Zoo news the past few years! Remote Music has been closed now for quite some time, and rumour has it that Jas Mann is setting up a record label called ‘Hub Records’ but there’s been very little update to the website which was said to be opening the beginning of the year and I’ve not been able to confirm whether Jas is actually involved with the project or not.

Confused Art wise, there aren’t that many changes to speak of! Most of the pages have been re-coded to make them XHTML1.0 Transitional compliant but you shouldn’t notice any visual changes. A major update to the message board is in the works and should be finished by the end of September. I’ll keep you posted!

Last but not least, Confused Art has been moved to a new server! But don’t let that worry you. We aren’t going anywhere!

Confused Art is Back!

By | Babylon Zoo, Jas Mann, Music, Site News | No Comments

WE’RE BACK!!! Confused Art – A Babylon Zoo Website has returned with a bang, now located at ‘www.confusedart.com’. The return of this website is mirrored by what some of you already know as the return of Babylon Zoo. Remember last year when Jas left EMI and the fan club basically shut down as well… word on the street was that Jas was going to end Babylon Zoo (still continue making music, just not under that name).

Well, to my (and most other people’s) surprise, Babylon Zoo has returned with a new song entitled “Love Lies Bleeding” and with a new record label “Remote Music”. Let’s all thank Remote Music for bringing back Confused Art and giving Babylon Zoo a new home.

A clip from the song is available, but you really must download the full version as it is a really good tune. It can be downloaded from the website but it will cost you $1.50 (which in my opinion is a sweet deal). The lyrics are on the “Lyrics” page as well.

In closing… as many of you remember when the site was shut down last year, one of my reasons for not re-launching the site was that I didn’t have the time to keep it updated. I have even less time now, and although I’ve found the time to do this final major update, from this point on I will have a very limited involvement with the website and it will be run by someone else. I will still be around, probably posting to the guestbook and soon to come message board often, but I will not be responding to the stream of emails asking me questions about Babylon Zoo that I can’t answer. Just when you thought that the return of this site was big, let me just tell you that there are even bigger things in the works, so check back often.

Another bit of news. Most of you don’t know this, but a German metal band called “The Kovenant” did a cover of Babylon Zoo’s classic hit “Spaceman”. It’s definately interesting to hear if you ever get the chance.

A few other things have been updated as well all over the site, but instead of trying to explain it all here, take a look around.

Editor Note: Sadly Remote Music is no longer online but this update has been kept for historical purposes.
